The Ned

Situated at the northern tip of the South Island of New Zealand lies one of the world’s most exciting wine regions-Marlborough.

Overlooking the untouched beauty of the valleys are rugged peaks, one of the highest is The Ned. The vineyards of The Ned are located on the banks of the Waihopai River and on the southern side of the Wairau Valley.

This location consistently enjoys warmer daytime temperatures and lower rainfall than areas to the north. These warm daytime temperatures, followed by cool nights encourage intense flavour development which are the hallmarks of the great wines of Marlborough.This area has become renowned for helping to cement the crisp nettle and bright fruit flavours reflected in the wines.

His history of crafting wines for the world are testament to his skill and passion. Brent is one of New Zealand’s most respected winemakers and has been at the forefront of New Zealand’s viticultural development.
