Wine Description
On the remains of a fortified tower built by Charlemagne, Château de La Rivière was constructed in 1577 by Gaston de l’Isle, mayor of Bordeaux and restored by Viollet-le-Duc. Located at the West of Libourne, it dominates the Dordogne valley and the 60 hectares of its vineyards. In addition to Chateau de La Riviere, the estate produces a white wine, Chateau de La Riviere Blanc which is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (67%) and Sauvignon Gris. Only 4 – 6,000 bottles are produced each year. The bouquet tropical fruits and also floral.
